Night of the Big Heat (1967 Terence Fisher)

Christopher Lee: 'It dealt with the invasion of earth by protoplasm. Looking like fried eggs, they ruined the climax...We wanted the illusion of 115 degrees Fahrenheit, so Peter [Cushing], Patrick Allen and I worked in shirtsleeves, and the girls had bikinis. That was fine, except it was the middle of the night in winter. To foster the impression of sweat we were drenched in glycerine.'

I thought Allen was terrible, particularly when kissing Jane Merrow. The 'aliens' are glowing polystyrene rocks.

I saw an edited version in which a man threatens Merrow and then in the next scene he's running away whilst her clothes are all ripped. Don't tape films off 'Legend'!

The film is shit, whether edited or not.
