L.A. Story (1991 Mick Jackson)

A funny and stylish affair, written by Steve Martin and realised by Brits Jackson and cinematographer Andrew Dunn, charming music by Peter Melnick and Enya, as well as Stéphane Grapelli and Django Reinhardt, 'La Mer' by Charles Tenet, etc.

Brilliant satire of nineties LA is still really funny and the film references La Dolce Vita and Bande a Part, so heart definitely in right place. With Martin are Victoria Tennant (who's not bad - they split soon after), Richard E Grant, Sarah Jessica Parker, Marilu Henner, Kevin Pollak, Woody Harrelson, Patrick Stewart, Iman and Rick Moranis, having a Dick Van Dyke moment from 'Hamlet'.

Editing by Richard A Harris also worthy of a mention (many credits since 1968).

"Oh no. This is how mummy met daddy."
