Michael Palin's semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story in dull coastal town in the fifties. Edward Rawle-Hicks fancies Oona Kirsch, but her Dutch companion Pippa Hinchley keeps fucking (literally) things up.
The staid parents are John Nettleton, Pat Heywood, Allan Cuthbertson, Joan Sanderson (runs boarding house; good), Graham Crowden, Janine Duvitski.
Features "Do come to the sausage sizzlers on Saturday!" sort of thing.
Love the way it was introduced on BBC4: "Our thoughts are with the Palin family at this time." Oh, sorry - that wasn't a joke. Michael's wife Helen had died on May 2.
