The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947 Joseph Mankiewicz)

Good info here. Very entertaining, Harrison and Tierney have great chemistry. Herrmann score wonderful.

The film helps you understand ship's bells, e g. midnight is four bells, one is one, up to - four is four, then five A.M. is one bell etc. Actually I've just double-checked that and it's complete bollocks. So that's all good.

Philip Dunne writes great lines like "I said a man, not a perfumed parlour snake!" Also liked the conversation over a word she's typing up and how she wouldn't use it, and he says use if anyway, blast it! And she types four letters.

Filmed at Stillwater Cove, Pebble Beach and on Fox sets.
