Immediately like this - not the dark drama it was heralded as with ironic, American voiceover and silent movie titling, playful story-telling and funny moments. Such as when Karyo is threatening the couple and he's interrupted (and the music stops - a feature of the series) and pauses, and then says something like 'You know when you think your phone has received a text, but it hasn't?' - which I'm sure most people are familiar with. Even the recaps are amusingly written.
Loved the moment that the cop meets the killer on a bench overlooking the sea, unaware of each other's identity, and they bond.
Daisy Haggard, Patterson Joseph, Tcheky Karyo, Joanna Scanlan ("It's not every day a handsome French man walks into your life, and then gets shot"), Craig Fairbrass, Oliver Sheridan, Ethan Lawrence (cop), Jonas Armstrong.
Excessively violent - have to say I don't really like seeing cops murdered. Also killing off a sympathetic character at the end? No, no. And why give the boy the knowledge of French and then not use it somehow?
It ends a bit crazily, unfortunately. (And in a rush - how did they get rid of the body, for example?) And seems to end at the beginning of a new story.
The song referenced is 'Tombe La Neige' popularised by Salvatore Adamo.
