The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1957 Nathan Juran)

Is 'Dynamation' what they call it when we see Harryhausen's cute beasts and the surrounding action goes all into horrible quality? It is? Hurray!!

No doubt the Foreign Office lists the island of Colossa on its 'do not travel' list as it's populated by vicious two-headed birds, cyclopses, a dangerous skeleton and a fire-breathing dragon. Ray Harryhausen's creations are one of the reasons to watch (it sure ain't the acting), colourful exotic sets and Bernard Herrmann's music (his main theme sort of becomes North by Northwest).

The screenplay ain't so good either and the stunt and fight choreography awful.

Photographed by Wilkie Cooper. With Kerwin Matthews, Kathryn Grant (The Brothers Rico, Operation Mad Ball and - believe it or not - appears uncredited as girl at songwriter's party in Rear Window), Torin Thatcher, Richard Eyer (Genii, The Desperate Hours), Danny Green. Columbia.

The Genii / boy is called 'Barani' and it made me want to eat a biryani. Stupid film!

There's always a Caliph in these films - but note background detail

The Incredible Shrinking Woman

He's so angry...

Another angry monster. What's wrong with them all? Well I suppose you would be if you were chained up in a cave all the time. In fact the RSPCA should get involved

It was filmed in Mallorca, La Alhambra in Granada, Madrid and Girona.
