Mad Dog and Glory (1993 John McNaughton)

Another one that had slipped under the radar (last seen 1 January 2008). Writer Richard Price co-wrote The Night Of. McNaughton directed Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and Wild Things.

Robert de Niro is a decent cop who helps save gangster Bill Murray's life; in return, he gives him Uma Thurman for a week. (This sort of thing happens all the time.)

De Niro is great - particularly like him attending crime scene to Louis Prima's 'Just a Gigolo'.

With David Caruso, Mike Starr.

Benefits from a classy score by Elmer Bernstein; photographed by Robby Muller.

We were surprised that Uma stays with de Niro; but you can't help thinking she's not going to stay around too long... make up your own ending.
