One Hour Photo (2002 Mark Romanek & scr)

In 2002 cameras weren't digital? Seems like the film should have been in the nineties.

Nonsense film has Robin Williams as a solitary nutter who yearns to be part of Connie Nielsen's perfect-looking family. When he learns husband Michael Vartan is having an affair, he goes psycho (but not in the murderous way you were expecting). So it doesn't really deliver, and the shock confession ending seems misplaced. Williams good though in atypical role.

I have to say the supermarket is very clean and tidy, clinically so (production designer is Tom Foden, for the record). Photographed by Jeff Cronenweth.

He's not very good at fulfilling his one hour obligation either.

With Erin Daniels, Gary Cole (vile supermarket manager), Eriq La Salle (sympathetic cop, best known for ER).

I think I was slightly confusing this for another film we saw around the same time, Insomnia, with Al Pacino and Williams, set in some snowy northern town. Might have to check that out too.
