Stuck in nowhere relationship with high school sweetheart Steve Zahn, failing Amy Adams starts to work cleaning up after messy deaths and enlists even more aimless sister Emily Blunt to help; the latter is struggling to process the suicide of her mum, and latches on to Mary Lynn Jajskub who's gone through something she thinks is similar.
They get it from their father Alan Arkin, who pursues one madcap entrepreneurial activity after another.
