Violet and Daisy (2011 Geoffrey Fletcher & scr)

I happened to see this on the shelf and thought 'What's this now?', took it out and saw Alexis Bledel - What?? Of course the first time round (2020) we hadn't seen Gilmore Girls or encountered her before. And it's rather good, an original written by the adapter of Precious, about two teenage hit girls (Saiorse Ronan the other) who find James Gandolfini difficult to kill.  Paul Cantelon's music gives it a sweet and sad feeling, and it's partly like a three-hander play, probably quite cheap to make. It's fun to see the normally placid Rory Gilmore as a murdering and foul-mouthed assassin.

'Jim' is great - Saoirse loved working with him. With Marianne Jean Baptiste and Danny Trejo.
