'The elephants are restless again tonight...' I can't believe it was five years ago almost (8 September 2011) - I remembered a lot about it very clearly.
Gérard Depardieu (a good performance). Andie MacDowell, Bebe Neuwirth (her friend), Jessie Keosian (the annoying old lady, who was Woody Allen's high school biology teacher, and was also in New York Stories (but not as WA's mum)), Ethan Phillips (immigration agent).
Nicely written and edited (William Anderson) opening takes us straight into the story, so the characters can develop over time. Couples don't know everything about each other, such as their make of toilet products. In that respect, plot is ridiculous. Also wasn't clear who gets the benefit of the conservatory garden apart from her? It's Aylesmere Apartment building designed 1894 by Henry Andersen at 60 West 76th Street. According to this nut the conservatory was really a part of the building
Hans Zimmer's music is very much of its time (referring to this particular period of time, that's not a compliment) though there's some other good stuff, kicking off with the amazing Larry Wright performing Subway Drumming. Geoffrey Simpson (Fried Green Tomatoes, Shine) is on camera and there's more green than just the card.
