Exhausting, overlong biopic in which there are some undeniably interesting things going on, but pyrotechnics and pop video editing conspire against it. There's barely a shot that lasts longer than a second (well, it does settle down a bit later); the story and performances suffer. An ordeal, that we're unlikely to view for a second time. (Elvis fans may be more patient.) A clue is in the messy writing credits:
