I don't know why ITV thought it would be a good idea to retell the story of John Stonehouse, a fantasist who faked his own death and served several years in prison - other than perhaps the novelty value of seeing real-life husband and wife Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes play the married couple. Did also like Kevin McNally as Harold Wilson. With Emer Heatley, Dorothy Atkinson, Igor Grabuzov.
Some of it's quite funny, admittedly e.g. Stonehouse's woeful attempts at spying.
The opening animation and music are clearly designed to emulate the credits scene of Catch Me If You Can.
