Where'd You Go Bernadette? (2019 Richard Linklater & co-scr)

I rather enjoyed this. Cate Blanchett is a difficult and particularly antisocial former architect who has promised to accompany her only child Emma Nelson on a month long trip to Antactica with husband Billy Crudup but events at home blow up. We only learn gradually what has caused the architect to get to this point in her life, which is resolved unexpectedly when she travels to the Antarctic solo.

The trio are good. With Kristen Wiig, Zoe Chao, David Paymer, Laurence Fishburne, Steve Zahn, Judy Greer, James Urbaniak.

I couldn't live in that house or even stay inside for long, but the production design is fabulous - Bruce Curtis.

It was originally written by Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber (500 Days of Summer etc.) but when Linklater came on to the film they were replaced (not for the first time) by Holly Gent Palmo and Vince Palmo, with contributions from Linklater.
