Joanna Scanlan is disappointed to hear that the murderer of her daughter, Iwan Rheon, is to be released from prison. Meanwhile journalist Alexandra Roach (also No Offence), who knew the victim, decides to go home and investigate. And begins to find out what really happened, an increasingly gripping ride.
With Sian Reese-Williams (butcher), Annes Elwy (Scanlon's daughter) and Aled Bidder (fiancé), Hannah Daniel, Dylan Jones, Lisa Palfrey, Aled Pugh (Stella), Morgan Hopkins.
Made me think of Southcliffe more than once (journalist coming back to home town amidst inhabitants' secrets). It was filmed also in Welsh. 6 x 45 minute episodes.
Rheon is particularly good as the haunted murderer who cannot remember what happened.
Editors: Mali Evans and Angharad Owen. DPs Sam Thomas and Mark Waters. For Channel 4.
For once, it arguably ends too early. What that conversation was between Scanlan and Rheon, for example...
