Deep End (1970 Jerzy Skolimowski & co-scr)

A deliciously odd film which somehow catches well the yearnings of young men for (slightly) older women, personified here by John Moulder-Brown and Jane Asher, both caught in a semi-improvised and very natural way.

Loved the little touches, like the corridor where suddenly we see a hand and red paint, or the way M-B hits all the corridor lights and makes them swing, or the little bows between him and hot dog salesman Bert Kwouk.

A film made by a Pole using a German crew, filmed there and in the UK, for a long time unobtainable.

The ending is weird.
