Some Like It Hot (1959 Billy Wilder & co-scr)

"You should see the yacht - mint sauce and cranberry!"

A perfect screenplay by Billy and Izzy Diamond is like clockwork - everything fits together perfectly, nothing's wasted, everything's there for a reason.

Marilyn looks slightly gaunt to me. Poor thing - you can't imagine the kind of life she had.

Love Al Breneman as the super-confidant sassy (and uncredited) little bellhop.

The editing's credited to Arthur Schmidt - Sunset Boulevard, Ace in the Hole, Sabrina, The Spirit of St. Louis.

Did Charles Lang really take two days to light a set (as revealed in Joe Losey's interview book)? I can't imagine Billy would have let him take that long.
