Double Wedding (1937 Richard Thorpe)

Written by Jo Swerling, from a play by Ferenc Molnar (who also provided the source for the Wilder/Brackett One Two Three).

William Powell is in eccentric mode as fur coat-wearing, trailer domiciled director type who has fallen in with Florence Rice and fiancé John Beal (who's rather funny in gormless role), but will inevitably end up with Rice's controlling sister Myrna Loy. Jessie Ralph (After the Thin Man) entertaining as older friend of Loy (and, it turns out - Powell, who's 'Charlie Horse' to her 'Stonewall'). Very messy attempted wedding in trailer (which looks like it's parked on the MGM backlot) is highlight.

Impossible to argue with a film that has this as its final shot
Shot by Bill Daniels. With Sidney Toler, Donald Meek.
