Lost in America (1985 Albert Brooks & co-scr)

Written with Monica Johnson, who co-wrote several of his films and died in 2010 aged 64.

Having rashly been fired (!) Albert Brooks persuades Julie Hegarty to take off round America with him, citing Easy Rider as an influence (that nobody mentions the end of this film is I think a deliberate joke). She behaves incredibly stupidly... the American Dream bites them in the ass... It's a bit like a nightmare.

Scene with Arizona employment officer is funny - you were earning $100k a year and that wasn't enough to 'find yourself'?
