Almost a showcase for everyone who's appeared in his films to date, including Julie Kavner, Diane Weist, Mia Farrow, Wallace Shawn (the last man standing.. at least until we see his French film, if that ever comes out...), Jeff Daniels, Diane Keaton (who he allows a whole uninterrupted number as an apology for Annie Hall), Michael Tucker (the father, Purple Rose), Danny Aiello (Purple Rose), even Tony Roberts in a non-speaking part.
Plus Kenneth Mars, Martin Rosenblatt, Helen Miller, Julie Kurnitz, Seth Green, Josh Mostel, Hy Anzell, Judith Malina, Fletcher Previn (son of Mia and André), Larry David. A cast of thousands.
That was Radio City Music Hall, though Santo Loquasto is such a good production designer you're never quite sure. Photographed by Carlo di Palma in luscious hues.
