The Bear (2022 Creator Christopher Storer)

A brilliant chef (Jeremy Allen White) is working in a grubby Chicago  diner - why? Amidst the confusion, and the shouting of 'Cousin' (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), we find out it's connected with his brother's suicide. It's quite difficult to get through this welter of conflict, at first, but new recruit Ado Ayebiri hopes to bring order to the chaos.

Moss-Bachrach must be a good actor because I find his character fucking annoying! And unfortunately as the main source of all the conflict it makes the series hard to enjoy - it's too loud and angry, and not helped by both dialogues and monologues that seem partly improvised, and don't really work. The ending - finding the money in the tins of tomatoes - makes no sense and is annoying.

8 x 30 for FX. Another Boiling Point, in a way. This strata of macho Chicago masculinity is not really my cup of tea.
