From an idea by Sacha Guitry 'Bonne Chance', Written for the screen by Allan Scott and John van Druten. It's a fairly sappy story, actually, set in Greenwich Village, as Ginger Rogers thinks nutty artist Ronald Colman is a lucky charm, and somehow agrees to go on a mock honeymoon with him despite being engaged to Jack Carson. The inevitable happens, followed by a court case over which twinkly judge Harry Davenport presides.
Ginger is on great form. With Spring Byington, Hugh O'Connell (hotel clerk), Leon Belasco and Eddie Conrad (the two Nicks, below). Music by Dimitri Tiomkin, photographed by Robert de Grasse. Ginger was then the only major star under exclusive contract to RKO.
Q thought we might have seen it before - turns out we already owned a copy!
