The Unfaithful (1947 Vincent Sherman)

Housewife Ann Sheridan is attacked in her home and kills her attacker in self-defence. Turns out not to be as straightforward as we think. Lawyer friend Lew Ayres tries to help, husband Zachary Scott is in the dark; Eve Arden doesn't have much to do; Steven Geray is a blackmailing art dealer. LA set. World War Two turns out to be the Bad Guy once we're through with the court case.

OK, a bit talky. Benefits from Max Steiner score and Ernie Haller on camera. Written by David Goodis (Shoot the Pianist) and James Gunn.

In this shot, Geray is moving the statue so it looks like it's alive - the best moment in the film

That was I think the Bradbury again standing in as an office location. (You know, from Good Neighbor Sam, Caprice, Shockproof, (500) Days of Summer, Bladerunner...)
