Seems nonsensical to me, partly because people keep doing unbelievably stupid, unbelievable things. When Jamie Dornan is running away from people in van, he sticks to the road, where he would be much better off simply going up or down or somewhere inaccessible. He keeps running away rather than just hiding (in one such moment he's actually standing by a stone wall, which he could just hide behind). When Danielle Macdonald and Guarda Conor MacNeill go in search of Doornan, knowing he's been kidnapped in a van, they set off in pursuit on foot, despite the Guarda's car being there. When Dornan is with the leg-injured young man, Mark McKenna, they struggle across the island on foot, despite McKenna having a buggy which could take them. When they get kidnapped for the second time it's like all the air is sucked out of your body...
And the stuff about the Guarda's blow-up woman...
Quite enjoy Olwen Fouéré as the matriarchal mobster with the long white hair.
With everyone lying it's a bit difficult to care...
I grudgingly admired the dream scene in episode 5 - the oven beep being the hospital beep - but even that was 'so what'? At least Danielle got to exercise her acting range.
